eco-responsibility

The observation

In the toy world, the picture is rather bleak: 80% of toys are made in the world’s factory: China! The amount of plastic used is gargantuan and the toys often end up in the trash when the kids lose interest (whether it’s cars or adorable dinosaurs). All this without forgetting the logistics that such a mode of production imposes, always more resources consumed.

  • 120,000 tons of toys are thrown away every year.
  • 90% of toys are made of plastic.
  • 70% of the toys sold in France are imported from China.

For the manufacturing of our building set, Kojo, we have therefore set ourselves the challenge of reducing our carbon footprint as much as possible.

Our response

Kojo is committed to a 100% Made in France and eco-responsible production!

  • Our PEFC wood plates are made in Rennes.
  • Our recycled bioplastic pliers designed by Futuramat are injected by MCPlast in Nantes.
  • Our upcycled fabric storage bag is made in Mauléon by a Solidarity Company.

PEFC wood

The wood used for the manufacture of the plates comes from PEFC certified forests which guarantee their durability. PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is an international NGO that promotes the protection and sustainable management of forests worldwide. How does it work?

From the forest and throughout the processing and marketing chain, certified wood is monitored by an independent certifier to ensure that the finished product meets the stated objectives.

– Environmental: Ensure sustainable access to the wood to preserve biodiversity and ecological balance.

– Social: To enable local populations and society in general to benefit in the long term from the economic benefits of the exploitation of forest resources

– Economic: Profitable logging without neglecting forest integrity.

For an oriental palace and Flemish houses without ecological impact .

It is our partner Micro Lynx in Rennes who takes care of cutting the plates from this famous eco-friendly wood .

Recycled plastic

For the clamps, our partner FuturaMat has developed the material used.

Based in Poitiers, this innovative company is part of the circular economy by developing innovative solutions from renewable and natural resources.

Very Kojoesque !

The company MC Plast from Nantes is in charge of the manufacturing of our recycled plastic pliers.

Clamps that hold the plates together and represent our commitment to an environmentally responsible project.

Our storage bag

As far as the storage bags are concerned, it is a solidarity company that takes care of them, theESIAM of Mauléon.

Their spearhead? The valorization of waste, that passes by the dismantling of old elements of joinery, the manufacture of outside furniture starting from recycled pallets, but especially, they recover the falls of fabrics.

From recycled fabric, they create pouches under the watchful eye of people who need a helping hand to reintegrate into the world of work. It is there that our bags are made and that the dreams are kept

Kojo is also an educational game
